I haven’t been on for a while so I just thought I should tell everyone
I AM WATCHING PHANTOM OF THE OPERA 25TH IN 3D!!!!
Love Never Dies is next and then Les Miserable
I have never felt so close to Ramin
1.The Show now begins with ‘Til I hear you sing’. Any songs before that have been cut or rearranged. The Coney Island waltz now happens straight after this song and then ‘Only for Him’
2. Christine now comes to America to sing initially for Oscar Hammerstein, Not Mr. Y.
3. Madame Giry doesn’t confront the Phantom about Christine. She now sings this song to Meg. Meg seems fairly excited that Christine is coming to America because at this stage, Christine is not stealing Megs Lime Light.
4. After BAMS and OUAT Phantom asks Christine to sing for him. She Refuses but after Phantom meets her son he threatens to steal Gustave if she does not sing for him. When he shows her the song and leaves you can see Christine is overwhelmed by the song he has written her.
5.Phantom confronts Christine has been changed a fair bit. It now ends with Phantoms telling christine to never tell Gustave that he is his real Father and to leave now. She Agree’s but tells him that she will sing for him once more.
*DON’T READ THIS PART IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW HOW THE ENDING HAS CHANGED*
5.The ending has been completely staged differently. After Meg shoots Christine she leaves the stage with Madame Giry. Phantom is left embracing Christine. Christine goes to tell Gustave that Phantom is his real Father but Eric does not want her to. She assure him it will be okay and that Phantom is all Gustave has left in the world. Gustave is shocked and runs and leaves. After Christine dies, Raoul comes back with Gustave. Phantom passes Christine to Raoul. Raoul encourages Gustave to go to his real Father. They embrace in a hug and the show ends with Gustave removing the mask and touching his face.
I’m glad I knew all this before I saw the show but I wish I didn’t know how the ending had changed. It still brought me to absolute tears though.
Also, all the set, costumes and staging has changed completely. Some song lyrics have been modified to suit the show better.
It’s a very hot hot hot day here in Oz and I don’t work until 4pm so I decided it’s time to watch Phantom 25 :) Ramin and Sierra will be beautiful together once more and grace my screen :)
